Schweet Party Dress

Project Run and Play week 1
The challenge: Party Dress Remix (pattern HERE)
Party dress and knit bolero. Unfortunately my little model was having a rough day, so I don’t have any pictures of the dress on anybody. We couldn’t even get Hailey to let us put her in it.
So here’s what I did. For the bodice I used the original Party Dress pattern, and added in pleats using a tutorial from Craftiness is not Optional (this one). The skirt is a circle skirt rather than the skirt in the pattern. Originally I had intended to add a petticoat underneath, but ran out of time. The fabric is actually from a cotton sheet. Pink flowered sheets are great when you’re a single teenager in high school, and I love the pattern, but Nathan isn’t crazy about them.
For the little bolero I used the Summer Lace Rib Bolero pattern I found on Ravelry. It doesn’t look like much, but it is absolutely darling once it’s on. I fully intend to make many more when I do have a little girl someday.

The back. I had intended on doing regular buttons all the way down, but I fell in love with a button that had no mates. So It’s just the single button.

Here are my bodice pieces just after I cut them out.
