Free Pattern Friday: Simply Summer Romper

Today I’m sharing the Simply Summer Romper.  This is a fun, easy pattern from If Only They Would Nap.  Mine came together pretty nicely– ignore the little white threads in the collar, I forgot to do a thread check before taking pictures.
This romper sat in my works in progress pile for a really long time.  Why?  Because I didn’t want to put in snaps!  I have yet to acquire a KAM snap setup, so I had to sew these in by hand.  I put in three, but I probably should have done 5-7 snaps.  I’ll go back and add in more later.
I used an old t-shirt of Nathan’s for this project, the collar was pretty ragged so I borrowed one from another shirt.  The Badenator is super crazy about cars lately.  Especially license plates.  Because of the logo placement, I had to piece together the back of the romper.
The romper pattern says it is a 12 month size.  The Badenator is pretty solidly in 18-24 month RTW clothes, and this fits him well.  He’s built a little short and stocky, so you may or may not be able to make this for your 18 month old.  If you’re not a big fan of rompers for day wear, this pattern would make adorable jammies.  Oh, and I wouldn’t worry about fitting in a cloth bum, there’s plenty of room.
Have you made these? What did you think? I’d love to see yours, add it to the linky!  But really, add anything you’ve made with a free pattern in the last while.
