Back at the start of Star Wars month I made Mack a Dark Side inpsired shirt using the Play Date V-Neck pattern, and a few old t-shirts.
It took me all month to photograph the shirt because Mack really loves wearing it. Which means it has been through the wash quite a few times already, and even has a stain. They aren’t joking when they say boys are hard on their clothes!
The front of the shirt was made using a freezer paper stencil, which I am happy to share with you here.
Rather than just paint the whole stencil, I made the choice to make “Dark Side” be a reverse applique. I placed red jersey from another thrifted tee behind my black and used the stencil to guide me as I stitched the outline of the letters. Then I simply cut out the black inside the stitch lines.
And we can’t forget the back! You know the Empire needs every trick in the book to try and get people to be on their side.
Have we convinced you?
