Adam Beard: a free dress up beard pattern

I decided this pattern and tutorial needed its own post, so to kick off Free Pattern Friday this year, I’m reminding everyone about my free dress up pattern, the Adam Beard. You will need felt (I had an 8.5 x 11 sheet), and some elastic (I used 10 inches of 1/4″ elastic). Adam Beard PDF Template         The Badenator certainly loves his!    Loading InLinkz ...    ...

Six Degrees of Separation: The Hunger Games

Who doesn’t love the Hunger Games?  We dedicated a month to Hunger Games sewing for CraftingCon a year ago, and I didn’t manage to get in on the action last time. In the mad dash to select shows and play the 6 degrees game, when I saw the opportunity to connect Stanley Tucci to Shall We Dance (blogged by Rachel here) I snatched it up! So which character did I sew for? I originally had grand plans. Those...

Something Exciting

Recently it’s been quiet over there, have you noticed? Want to know why? I’ve been working on a really fun project: my first PDF pattern! The Bartowski Slim Tie A few of you may wonder where the name Bartowski came from, it’s a reference to one of my favorite TV shows, Chuck! If you want to know more about the pattern, I have a post up at Swhetty Betties today. There’s even a coupon code for...

Top Stitchers: Kids Say the Darndest Things

I think The Badenator may have just found out his chances of being able to grow facial hair, haha. But he doesn’t need to be sad for long, because I have a free dress up pattern for him, and for your little lumberjacks as well!   Today I’m over at the Sewing Stadium competing in my SECOND Top Stitchers Battle.  I’m super excited by all that I made so be sure to stop by and leave me (and my...

Momiform MAKEover

*disclaimer:  The patterns used in this post were provided to me free of cost.  All opinions are entirely my own. Affiliate links are marked with an asterisk (*). If you purchase something from the site after using an affiliate link I may receive compensation* I love me a good pair of yoga pants.  Who doesn’t?  However, earlier this year I promised myself I would make more of an effort to look nice each day....

Psych Inspired Sewing (bringing home my top stitchers post)

Since competing in Top Stitchers Season 3 is in my near future, I thought it might be aa good time to “bring home” my Top Stitchers Who-dun-it look. Mackathanial still wears all the pieces from this, and is sad that shorts season is coming to an end. He loves everything so much that I’ve already had to do some mending, and we’ve collected a few stains. And now, the post that appeared on Free...

Top Stitchers Interview: Getting to know Carrie

Remember how much fun I had making Mack’s Psych outfit for my Who-dun-it Top Stitchers prompt? Well I get to participate again! This time Becca has paired me with Carrie, and our prompt is “Kids Say the Darndest Things”. As competitors we interviewed each other, and I had a lot of fun chatting with Carrie.  But… I didn’t take a lot of notes.  Oops! Isn’t her logo adorable? Carrie...

Free Pattern Friday: Tiny Tumble Tee

This Tiny Tumble Tee is one of the things waiting for #somedaywhenihaveagirl.  I’ve made several to give as baby gifts as well, and they are always a hit, with or without the bow.  I love that this pattern has drop sleeves instead of set-in sleeves.  That makes for only 4 seams and some hems, so these are a cinch! Have you made this? What did you think? I’d love to see yours, add it to the linky!  But...

Free Pattern Friday: Mary Jane Baby Shoes

Last week we had the infant peasant dress, and this week I’m sharing another pattern that only uses a little bit of fabric and makes a perfect baby gift. Aren’t these Mary Jane Baby Shoes just adorable?! I’ll admit, I’d never made baby shoes before and I was really worried about sewing something that tiny on my machine.  It really wasn’t hard!  In fact, the hardest part was the top...
